Man’s Quest for a Higher Realm

Humanity has progressed on so many fronts since the earliest civilizations. Agriculture, food processing, mechanics, astronomy, machines, warfare and science are a few areas where humanity has progressed immensely.

The quest for improvement has driven research, education, experiments, expeditions, explorations and study costing immense resources that have led to improved quality of life; higher life expectancy; wider and deeper knowledge and understanding.

However, the best humanity has been able to achieve has not succeeded in addressing fundamental problems of man’s inhumanity to fellow men, greed, avarice, oppression, sickness and death. Human search for “utopia” has remained elusive as like sand, the more we grab, we more we lose its grip. Our technological advancement have brought climate change and depletion of some of our strategic minerals. Our treaties, edicts and global bodies have at best slowed the pace or delayed the occurrence of war – nuclear war! Ongoing events point to the fact we have learnt little lessons as we are back to similar events to World War I and II and the fears of nuclear attacks from barely 30 years ago!

As Utopia seems elusive, many have turned to a simpler lifestyle, paganism, selfless donations of their money amidst other things as they try to find fulfilment in less. Admittedly, this is reversing the cycle of human search for the higher realm as had been done in history through alchemy, astrology, etc.

Conclusively, as many have found out like Solomon in the Bible the futility of human quest for the higher realm, we seek to have an answer from the Him who said “…He that is greater than Solomon is here.” He said “…Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden …and ye shall find rest unto your souls.”
