Luke 7

Bible Text: Luke 7 vs 36-50

Jesus: Love, Devotion and Kindness “Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached throughout the whole world, this also that she hath done shall be spoken of for a memorial of her” Mark 9 vs 14 (Luke 7 vs 36-50)

Mary had just expressed her love and devotion in the deepest way she could. It was simple and unsophisticated but profound and deep. The men at the gathering made little sense of it, but Jesus seeing her heart appreciated all of it. He could see her desires and devotion reflected in this act of worship, submission and repentance. He spoke in her defence and would let us know her act would be retold everywhere the story of Jesus Himself would be said.

Jesus still cares about our simple acts of faith, love, repentance and devotion today. It might not make sense to people around, but He ultimately appreciates and acknowledges them. This should encourage us all to devotion, repentance and affection to Him and humanity around us. He will always remember and bless us for these. Amen
