Bible Text: Luke 8 vs 4-15

The Fruitful Field “And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit a hundredfold…” Luke 8 vs 8 (Luke 8 vs 4-15)

Jesus spoke about a farmer whose seeds fell on 4 different soils of which 3 were poor but just 1 was fruitful. The fields he said, are hearts which received the seeds of God’s word. He made us know the challenges with the unfruitful fields was with poor understanding, mundane distraction and indecisiveness. Then he mentioned the fruitful field as a prepared and good heart – one prepared to obey God’s word and make changes to his life even when inconvenient. Jesus would call on us all to take heed. Do we have a ready and willing heart to do as Jesus teaches?
